FIT (foreign individual traveller)

Reservations comprising of up to 7 paying guests per night.

FIT booking policy

  • Bookings/reservations will be held on a provisional basis until 14 days prior to the date of arrival. If not confirmed in writing and payment has not been received, the booking will be released automatically.
  • Confirmed booking/reservation definition: the property has received confirmation in writing and full payment within stipulated time frames.
  • Payment is to be made in the quoted currency.

FIT payment policy

  • A 40% deposit will be required within 7 days of the reservation, full payment will be required 7 days prior to arrival.
  • For bookings made less than 7 days prior to arrival date full payment within 48 hours (2 days)  is required.
  • During peak season, we reserve the right to charge FULL payment on any bookings 30 days prior to arrival.
  • Pre-payment clients: Failure to, without prior notice, make payment on receipt of invoice will result in the reservation being automatically released.
  • In the event of disputed charges, the undisputed portion of the account remains payable on due date.
  • Bank  transfer costs: We wish to advise that international transfers accrue extra bank charges which have to be borne by the client. As the charges vary considerably, we recommend to inquire about the anticipated costs from the house bank the client is affiliated with.

FIT cancellation policy for reasons other than COVID related incidents

  • Prior to date of arrival:
    More than 30 days – no cancellation fee. 29 - 0 days:  90% cancellation fee of the total reservation value.
  • Any additional bank transfer charges are to be borne by the client.
  • Reservations made will only be guaranteed provided payment is made and monies are received in accordance with the above schedule.
  • An early departure is subject to a cancellation fee of 100 % of the total reservation value.
  • During peak season, we reserve the right to charge FULL payment on any bookings cancelled 30 days or less prior to arrival.
  • NO SHOWS – No shows attract a 100% cancellation fee.

Children  policy

  • Children under 2 years sharing a standard room with 2 other guests and sleeping on an extra mattress or in a cot get free accommodation.
  • Children aged 2-11 years sharing pay the children’s rate as per rate sheet.
  • Children under 12 years booked on single room occupancy pay the standard single rate.

Group traveller

Reservations comprising of 8 or more paying guests per night.

Group booking policy

Group bookings will only be held on a provisional basis as follows:

  • 45 days or more prior to arrival – booking/reservation will be held for 15 days and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed in writing and full payment received.
  • Bookings less than 45 days prior to arrival will be held for 72 hours (3 days) and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed in writing and full payment has been made.
  • Confirmed booking/reservation definition: the property has received confirmation in writing and full payment within stipulated time frames.
  • Payment is to be made in the quoted currency.

Group payment policy

  • Full pre-payment is required 30 days prior to the date of arrival in order to confirm the booking/reservation.
  • For bookings made less than 30 days prior to arrival date full payment within 72 hours (3 days) is required.

Group concession:

Complimentary concession will be made to the agent as follows:

  • 11 - 15 full paying clients:  1 guest charged at 50% of sto rate
  • 16 - 25 full paying clients:  1 guest complimentary  

Guide and/or driver concession:

  • 1 –5 full paying clients: guide and/or driver pay(s) 75 of the sto accommodation rate.
  • 6 – 15 full paying clients: guide and/or driver pay(s) 50% of the sto accommodation rate.
  • 16 and above full playing clients: guide receives complimentary accommodation, driver pays 50 % of the sto rate
  • Guide and/or driver pay(s) full rate for meals and extras.

Medical and travel insurance

It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure they have adequate medical and travel insurance cover for the duration of their trip.

Changes to rates

We reserve the right to amend rates subject to any changes in government legislation but will honour any confirmed bookings at the existing agreed rates. Confirmed booking definition: the property has received full payment or is holding a valid voucher from an authorized credit account holder).  

Force Majeure

Musangano Lodge shall not be liable to pay any compensation or refunds under the contractual obligations  if the latter  are impaired by 'Force Majeure'. This term refers to  any event beyond the control of Musangano Lodge so that our services are rendered impossible, substantially more difficult or delayed as a result of acts, orders or regulations issued by Central or Local Government, industrial disputes (whether official or unofficial), war, riots, hostilities, flood, fire, accident, epidemic, failure or shortage of supplies or from any other cause, event or occurrence which Musangano Lodges either unable to prevent Musangano Lodge  shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or delay arising from or as a result of such non-performance. The onus is on the operator to ensure that their clients are in possession of adequate travel insurance.

The only Force Majeure exception relates to the current Covid-19 related travel restrictions (See  Covid-19 Terms and Conditions). This Force-Majeure exception will only apply while Covid-19 travel restrictions exist.
